Summer 2007

      In this piece, I express Chinese lion and Peony. This combination is another Japanese traditional design for tattoo. In this  pair of tattoo cuffs, I depict a sacred pair of Chinese lion of Japanese culture. There is a lion opening a mouth and sounding “oh”, on the left cuff , which represents the beginning of the Universe. On the right cuff ,a lion closing a mouth and sounding “m” represents the end of the Universe. These sounds of  the pair of Chinese lions represent  a Buddhist term, “ohm”, the whole Universe.
